Guest of the Week – UNREzT
Posted on May 5, 2009 by Julius | Share |
UNREzT aka Thin Consolation is a Belgian label focusing on electronic hip hop. When asked to describe his project, here is what Fred one of UNREzT’s masterminds sent me:
“I’ve been asked to write a few lines to introduce you to this latest virtual alter ego of our somewhat less virtual production line – the appropriately named Recordings of Thin Consolation. I suppose some form of overture would be appropriate. The logical approach being some brief historical summary, preferably with some poignant detail to exemplify how far we’ve come, what dedication we’ve shown. The idea being that this will give you “real” insight into our fundamentally sincere motivations, conferring a veneer of authenticity to our work. In the end we do what we do and you make it what you will. Some people drink, some collect stamps, some prefer gardening or cross dressing. This is our thing. This is our two word gesture to life as a statistic. In case of anxiety, just infuse longer.”
And in order to give you a better idea of what this is all about, here is a video where Cupp Cave explains his off beat hip hop sound filled with video games influences (french version).
