New York flavor

Posted on September 1, 2009 by Julius | Share |

I just came back from some holidays in NYC and I thought about sharing some tips and pictures with you… and also some music as this trip started with a “Mile High” compilation of my favorite summer tracks.

The Tats Cru soundwalk around Westchester Av. led us to community center The Point (Bronx).

Os Gemeos’ mural on Houston street.

Emory Douglas – illustrator for the Black Panther party (exhibition in New Museum)

High Line park… getting famous these days for being a free peep show.

A Roller Skatin Jam named “Sundays” in Central Park.

“Crack is Wack” wall by Keith Haring (Harlem).

Lots of street art in the Williamsburg area (here C215).

Roa on the Monster Island building (Williamsbrug – Brooklyn)

MOTUG (Monsters Of The Unda-Ground) collective in Brooklyn.

5 Pointz warehouse in front of the PS1 (Contemporary Art museum – Queens)

Aslo worth checking: the Floating Pool Lady, Big Nick’s, Fire Island, Sputnik, Cinders Gallery, Riverside Park, East Village RadioThe Street Spot, …

Thanks to Bie, Jan, Dida, Incks, Fred W, Prescott, Becki Fuller and everybody sharing tips with us along our walks.
