I’m the new kid, be nice to me! I’m Gav, I run the site juslikemusic.com and I’ll now be hosting a weekly show here on Laid Back called the Jus Like Music show.

I’ve been heavily into music since I can remember, and all different kinds too. But I’m essentially my own arch-nemesis. This is because being into so many different types and styles of music doesn’t mean I have a ‘little’ interest in lots of areas, no, it means I have MASSIVE amounts of interest in all of it! I’ve been writing about music for over three years now and it all rules my life – for better, or worse. I wouldn’t change it for the world, but it does mean I have to remember to come up for air once in a while. There’s no way I can slow this monster down, it will only get faster and stronger, so my solution is to create more outlets for it – so here I am, on Laid Back and I’m very happy to be here!

For this inaugural show I’ve made a varied selection of tracks, going from funk to soul to hip-hop to neo-soul to jazz, some stuff you may have heard of, but perhaps a lot you haven’t. Selecting such an array of styles is not something that I consciously do, I think it is just a reflection of myself, so what you will get from The Jus Like Music show is a tiny piece of me, and I hope it can become an enjoyable part of your musical life in much the same way that it gives me so much enjoyment in mine.

In this first episode, look out for emerging artists such as; Nicholas Kopernicus, Andreya Triana, Lavender Ticklesoft and Zed-U. Oh, and all feedback is very much welcome, I’d love to hear what you thought of the music and perhaps let me know which of it you had never heard of before. Enjoy!
