Little Miss Sunshiine #7
Posted on November 5, 2009 by Orsii | Share |Hello my friends!
How are we doing this week? Hopefully you’re still couping with this autumn madness. I can’t believe it’s already November! Time flies when you are having fun, and we have arrived to my seventh show here on Laid Back.
Due to a very stressful and busy couple of weeks, I didn’t have the time or the energy to record a “proper” show for LMS 7, which I do apologise for, but I did manage to put together a little selection of songs that are rather enjoyable.
The José James interpretation/cover of John Coltrane’s Equinox is a personal favourite of mine. Although I adore the original, I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Josè’s version. I was going through a rather difficult time in my life where I decided I was going to give up music, and out of nowhere, I got hold of that song, and not trying to sound to sappy, it did make me fall in love with music all over again. I first heard Josè’s version when I saw him live for the first time last year, and it truly was one of the most magical moments (music wise) of my life. It was released as a white label on Brownswood Recordings, and if you are one of the lucky few who managed to get your hands on a copy, I envy you!
I also included two songs from one of my favourite mixes of all times, Bullion’s “Mixed up in love vol.1“. I discovered “Our lives are shaped by what we love” by Odyssey and “In the name of love” by Kenny Rankin through that mix, but I still haven’t managed to find the version of the Kenny Rankin song that is used anywhere which is slightly annoying, but also a reason why I have listened to the mix about 100 times. If you haven’t heard or downloaded the mix, I strongly recommend you to do so! And if you didn’t get your hands on “Mixed Up In Love vol.2“, get that one as well!
Right, I think that is enough musical treats in one go. Don’t forget to tune in to my special edition sexy show that is coming up shortly. It is a killer and will definitely turn up the temperature! Until next time, take care!
Much Love,

Hi Orsi. “Mixed up in love” is indeed pure musical bliss. My favorite track is Paul White’s “so in love with you”.
REALLY good selection of music, I definitely enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work!
Aloxe – Yes I agree. Paul White is amazing, just like Bullion :)
Danny – thank you so so much! Youre doing a pretty damn good job with thefindmag too so big up and much love!
