Waiting for 2010
Posted on Dec 17, 2009 by Julius |This is my last mix of the year for our FM Brussel show so I played some of my 2009 favorites next to some fresh tracks. Next week, LuiGi will be responsible for the mix and on the 30th, Azer will play his “2009 best of” in our studio.
Sun Circle “Stars Fall Down” (Mr Beatnick Dub) - I had the chance the meet Nick last week (thank you Orsii) and the least I can say is that he seems like a great storyteller.
Lyrical, Antelruz & Kodie “The Thrill is Gone” - Make sure to visit the Rah Rah blog to discover Swedish mc Lyrical and maybe you’ll even score some free tracks…
The Q4 feat. Terryman “Goin’ Down” - Thanks to Gordon from PMC for sending Q4′s Sound Surrounding. Let’s hope we will be able to release a common project next year.
J-Zen “Pillow Addict” – Another thank you to Nao from Root70 Lounge for providing me with lots of music all year long. You can download J-Zen’s Breakfast beat-tape on his myspace.
Georgia Ann Muldrow “Run Away” – Because i love the video…
Lisa Preston aka LP feat. Paddy Fred “One” – Did we wrote enough about Lisa this year? No! And I hope Lisa will be all over the place next year on this blog, on LDBK and in your speakers.
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings “Ain’t no Chimneys” – To get us in the Christmas groove.
The Bamboos feat. Kylie Auldist “On The Sly” – Thanks to Dave from Tru-Thoughts for sending us this track to be released in February 2010 as a 7inch… and the B Side featuring Lyrics Born is also a killer.
Sade “Soldier of Love” – It’s no secret that I’m madly in love with Sade so even if her first single in 10 years is a bit average, I’m really impatient for her album to drop in February.
Melissa Czarnik “The Happy Song” – She is my favorite. I’ll never thank Jee-Nice enough for introducing me to Melissa.
Brazzavile “The Way It Is (Grazzhoppa remix)” – Still lobbying hard and hoping that those Brazzaville remixes will be released in one way or another… Love the After Hours feeling on that track.
The Louie Gee Ensemble “Scrabble” – This was THE best laid back project of the year and guess what? There’s gonna be more next year from the same guys.
JtotheC “Night Till Daylight” – After testing his moves in 2009, 2010 will JC’s year. And the man clearly deserves it. Go JC and big up Alex.
Weedy “Beats and Pieces” – My favorite track out of Weedy’s 2009 beat CD. Crossing my fingers for more 40 Winks releases next year.
Nicholas Kopernicus “Legacy” - Last but not least my favorite duo from Brooklyn. Jason and Seon from Nicholas Kopernicus. I hooked them up with photographer Carlito Brigante and together they will release their unplugged EP on this blog. Stay tuned…
And while I’m thanking and crediting everybody… a final big up is due to Nevine for hosting the Laid Back show for more than a year and to Ali & Laure for playing in the snow with me and the LDBK logo this afternoon.

Thanks Julius, it’s done with a whole lot of pleasure!!
I LOVE Q4!
