For the last few months Mixcloud has been the place where we upload the Laid Back mixes. For legal reasons, we decided to stop offering those mixes as free download and the service launched by Nikhil and Nico seemed like the perfect alternative. At the beginning of the year, Mixcloud organized a poll and guess who won the “best cloudcaster 2009” award? Thanks to everybody who voted for us and to all the dj’s sharing their mixes with us.

This week we also upload our FM radio show on Mixcloud for the first time testing a new format hosted in English by Nevine and Chris. Give us a few weeks to be fully in the groove. In this episode, I played one track from the Nicholas Kopernicus project, a special shout out from JtotheC to celebrate the release of his 7inch, the new Gil Scott-Heron and my current favorite UK band Homecut.

LuiGi took care of the rest of the mix with a special focus on Stalley’s mixtape available on Moovmnt, Bullion’s new gem available on One Handed Music and the new Miles Bonny/Reggie collaboration (be sure to check Miles as he is currently working on a Laid Back). At the end of the show, we also called Dynooo to speak about his Gum Dragon project before saying goodbye to Teddy Pendergrass who left us last week.

I’m really happy with the new format, let’s hope we’ll keep improving it.
