LDBK player upgraded

Posted on March 27, 2009 by Julius | Share |

After the first release of the LDBK player earlier this month, there were a lot of ideas/functionalities we wanted to add to our new toy (plus let’s be honest a few bugs to solve). And seeing a few days ago that the BBC is also upgrading its online radio player in the same direction was just one more motivation to go one step further.

So we went back in the lab and worked on adding some much needed user interaction to this player. Still a lot to do on this exciting project but I hope this is one more step in the right direction. As usual don’t hesitate to give us your feedback.

Install the latest version of the LDBK player.

New functionalities

Adapted right sidebar allowing listeners to give their opinion about what’s playing on LDBK radio. Those comments can be forwarded as status updates on Twitter (followed by a #LDBK tag)

Listing of all tracks played since the player’s launch. You can also scrobble this playlist to your last.fm account.

User preferences allowing to link the LDBK player to your last.fm or twitter account and even to change the background color.

Thanks a lot to Anthony Janssens (Adobe Air programming) for the great collaboration. For some internal reasons, we had to rush a bit to release this version, not giving our friends at Central Design a chance to style the new functionalities. But wait until the next release and they will be back in the game.
