Blast Kid - Inner City Jazz mix

Posted on December 21, 2008 by BlastKid

A few weeks ago, ThisIsTomorrow asked me to do a mix for his blog. I didn’t hesitate a moment because I had been a fan of his blog for a while. He has been hosting mixes by the likes of Larry Grogan (funky16corners) and Dj Prestige (fleamarketfunk), so that’s really cool. If you’re into stone cold funk and soul, check out his “Soul Food” show on Laid Back’s own online radio station.

“Inner City Jazz” is a 68 minute long jazz mix with mostly hard-bop and latin jazz from the golden era (in my opinion) of jazz music. Go get it at thisistomorrow.blogspot.com and show the guy some love.

George Shearing - The World Is A Ghetto
Lee Morgan - Speed Ball
Frank Foster - You Gotta Be Kiddin’
Yusef Lateef - Snafu
Chico Hamilton - The Dealer
Cal Tjader - Evil Ways
Art Blakey et les Afrocuban Boys - No Hay Problema
Duke Pearson - Los Malos Hombres
Stanley Turrentine - La Fiesta
Johnny Griffin - The Turk’s Bolero
Charles Earland - The Mighty Burner
The Horace Silver Quintet Plus J.J. Johnson - Mo’ Joe
Eric Kloss - Things Ain’t What They Used To Be
