Artists featured in this 6th edition:
- Smaakwaterval
A Brussels based duo composed by Joeri Bultheel and Michiel Claus, and inspired by the quest for ways to incorporate electronic elements into live music. Smaakwaterval released a live jam on Gentle Tapes, the cassette record label of Simon Halsberghe and Fredo De Smet, also known as Pitch & Hold. Their releases are limited to 50 hand numbered copies each.
- Roselien
Influenced by all music that reveals it’s soul, this young talented songwriter tells stories about faith and trust, sewn together by innovative rhythms and harmonizing lust.
- Pomrad
This Antwerp producer effortlessly appropriates any genre of electronic music, and blends them in his very own crossover funky and raw Pomrad sound. His live act is refreshing and singular for a beat maker. Each track is played live on keyboards and sampler, and different sets include talkbox singing and rapping. Pomrad’s live sets are delightfully eclectic, with amazing improvisations and are danceable as hell.
- Cupp Cave
‘Drink from my cup he says, with his regal tone, king-sized and street-wise - an easy task you might say when you can count your streets with both your hands - as he rolls them out, lazy beat by hazy bleep. I feel like Don King. I feel like chewing on a wafer. This colour’s not right. Everything’s plastic’
No longer Belgium’s best-kept secret, François Boulanger aka Cupp Cave aka Kingfisherg aka Ssaliva is a highly prolific beat-maker, baking his beat by the dozen as part of the Vlek rooster.
- VJ Maty
Technical wizard responsible for the visuals during the Monkeyrobot live sets. Recently he showed his skills at the Dour Festival 2011, accompanying Flying Lotus, Dorian Concept & Richard Spaven’s show.
- Exhibition
The artist responsible for the exhibition part is none other than Ghent based illustrator SeQ. You might remember him from the “All School Flavor” poster or the Double Trouble illustration… Looking forward to see what he has been working on lately…
