Let’s state it straight. I don’t like Contemporary Art and even less the way it’s usually presented in Belgium. Galleries and museums annoy me lot. Too academic and elitist, too much text that i don’t understand for too little excitement.

But well, we have a contemporary art biennial in Brussels for the first time and they choose two brilliant locations: an unused post building next to South station and a museum located in the “Anneessens” subway station.

This is the opportunity to visit those two exceptional locations that decided me to give the Brussels Biennal a try. And I must admit it was really funny. The old post building offers an incredible view on the city and is filled with memorabilia from its previous occupants. And the “Anneessens” museum is a brilliant example of Belgian surrealism: built in the 70′s, it is only used for the first time in 2008!

But enough words, here are some of the artworks you will see when visiting this biennial…
